This was probably the most disappointing stay at a Comfort Suites that I have experienced, and my husband & I stay at them whenever we travel. When my sister and I (we were meeting to spend a few days together) checked in, there was construction going on in the lobby and the dining room, so we could not eat breakfast there, as we had planned to. It would have been nice for them to tell my sister that when she made the reservations. When we got to our room, the air-conditioner wasn't working and we noticed that the room was not clean....hand prints all over the mirrors, sheet hanging cockeyed on the bed, etc. It made one wonder how "clean" the rest of the room was. We asked for a different room, which we did get. The young woman at the desk never smiled, only talked when absolutely necessary, nor did she act like she cared to help us. We had problems with our room key....had to take it to the desk every day (3 days) we were there to have it re-programmed. As my sister was asking the girl at the desk why that was happening all the time, the manager called her (the girl at the desk) to come over to where he was standing, interrupting my sister in the middle of a sentence. All in all, we were disappointed in the room and the service.
From the time we checked in on Friday night to the time we checked out Sunday we just encountered the most friendly people ever. The concierge was so pleasant and friendly. I wish i had gotten her name. Our room was more spacious than expected. Having the bed area separated from the sitting area is nice. The room and bathroom were clean and no strange stain nor funky smell. We slept great with no loud noises waking/keeping us up. The pool area was perfect for our girls because it's doesn't get too deep. Also, well maintained and clean. Our breakfast was an added bonus. We were able to make ourselves and our girls fresh waffles. There were eggs, sausages and the usual cereals. There were also English muffins, bagels and toast. Yogurt and oatmeal were also available. It was nice not having to leave the hotel to eat breakfast. The location is great. The mall and many shopping plazas are close by as well as food options. Fast food to fine dining. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Neither my husband nor I had one complaint.
We were happy that this hotel had a pool and hot tub. When we arrived, everything in the pool area was off.... you had to wait 2 hours for hot tub to get hot. We had to cut on lights and basically, the following morning, we had to go cut it on at 6 am because staff didn't do this. Out of the 5 staff members we interacted with, only one was kind and hospitable. This person was not the manager. In fact, the manager checked us out and forgot to ask us how we "enjoyed" our stay... The hot breakfast should not be a selling point for this hotel. No Vegan options anywhere. Not even soy or almond milk and there are millions of people with an allergy to dairy. Fruit was old. Silverware? Lol nope cheap, plastic, take out utensils. Just underwhelmed guys. I have seen better for less $. Finally dirty linens everywhere. We had to switch rooms late at night because when getting in bed, we found stains on every surface. Can you say "cheap,cheap"? I would never recommend this place unless it were free
We went to one of their locations in Merriville and it was paid for by a friend. For an economic stay, it definitely hit all positive marks, and the complimentary self serve breakfast was fine. They had a pool, and a towels ready in your room if you need it! We got double beds in our room, and it came with a television and a place to plug in electronics, as well as an ice machine in the hallway on our floor. It was a nice stay.
I'm in love with this Extended Stay because I feel safe! There is no one driving by trying to pick you up. The staff here is friendly
