I was charged a deposit for smoking in my room, which has NEVER happened the previous times I've stayed here. When I called the front desk and asked why, they provided me no evidence beyond saying "It wouldn't have been charged if it didn't happen", which is virtually word of mouth and nothing more that cost me $50. Never staying here again.
Not the nicest hotel, but it has an awesome, friendly staff. Needs updated. Beds were comfortable and clean. Showers were hot. Our room was relatively quiet. No breakfast, other than some vending options. Close to fast food and gas station.
They charge a deposit and if you use cash you'll get it right back upon checkout. If you put the deposit on your card it could take up to two weeks to be reimbursed.

This place is a dump. Had to change rooms twice before we could find one that didn't smell of cigarettes or like a kennel. They charged us a $50 deposit even though we prepaid the room. The only redeeming quality was the very gracious and kind lady behind the desk.
The sheets and bathroom were clean and the front desk help was nice, that's all I care about. $55 after taxes is as cheap but still nice of a room you'll get this close to Chicago.
