Superb... Food is awesome.. atmosphere is great.. And is super freindly and very inviting. Ulysses is great.
Small gem of a place with traditional Spanish small eats cooked in a home style fashion. Very accommodating staff. Highly recommended. BYOB.
We were looking forward to trying this place before shopping and at first it started out with the chef and waitress not being very welcoming. Everything was going well until we ordered the Valencia paella. The chef didn't take the time to explain what came in it (already knowing this is our first time coming in). He just mentioned shrimp, chicken, steak, peas and saffron rice to us. He also didn't tell us the price which we ended up finding was a $35 plate which was listed as a special. We barely ate when we found calamari, lobster, squid, mussels, octopus, etc. which some of our friends wouldn't eat. We tried to see if the chef can switch out our plate for a chicken or steak only and said there would be an additional charge. He appeared indifferent to our reaction and did not care to accommodate us. We left quickly unsatisfied. :/
Delicious! We sampled many things and everything was amazing. The atmosphere was also great and the chef was personable and fun. There is a wide variety of menu options, as well as rotating specials, so there is something here for everyone.
Let me preface with the fact that this place gave me food poisoning.
Overall the service and staff were nice; but whether it was just the dish I had or what, I will never be returning to this place again and suggest you do the same.
The patatas bravas had a little heat to them but were overall kind of bland in taste.
The waiter came to come check on me and called over the chef. At this point I was starting to sweat. The chef remarked how I must have expected a sweeter cream sauce and asked if I wanted to try anything else off the menu if I didn't like my meal which was very nice of him. However, I was not feeling brave enough nor hungry enough anymore to try another dish.
I paid for my patatas bravas and exited as fast as I could. I threw up on the side of the road during my drive back home and spent that night in a cold sweat huddled inside my bathroom. I definitely got a memorable dining experience; just not the one I would have wanted.
The shrimp came out on skewers with a thick mint green glob of what looked like toothpaste across the top of them. The 'sauce' did not taste anything remotely like coconut or lime. The taste immediately set me off on the shrimp-like something didn't taste right; but at first I thought that may just be me not used to the taste. After the 4th shrimp though my stomach was churning and I was overcome with a wave of nausea.
I decided to try this place out yesterday because of the positive reviews I saw. The waiter was very personable and took the time to go through the menu with me since this was my first time there. He suggested I try the patatas bravas (spicy potatoes) and the chef's new special, Coconut Shrimp; which he described as having a coconut cream and lime sauce.
Much to their credit they took the meal off of my tab, were very nice about the whole thing, and left two coupons for free appetizers for my next visit; however I left them behind as I was dead set on never coming back here again.
