Had a very bad experience at this place. Buyer beware. I reserved a truck online for Thursday 5pm pickup. It was confirmed by budget with a reservation number. I called the day before at 4:30 and talked to the merrillville budget to confirm truck would ready for Thursday at 5pm. They said yes, the truck is ready. Went to the Merrillville budget to pickup truck at 5pm Thursday. The employee said, "Sorry sir they were supposed to call you, the truck will not be available". Well of course that was not truthful because they never did. The employee did not offer any backup plan, like maybe call other budget in the area to see if they have a truck any truck. He stated he did not have the number of the other budgets in the area. Employee had no clue on how to deal with this situation. I had to suggest maybe he could call the 800 budget number to get the other numbers, duh! He got a schererville number, they did not have a truck. He never called any other numbers. He could have cared less that I had no truck. That I had other people making arrangements to help me move. This was totally unprofessional. Go to the Uhaul next door. I went there, got a good price, got a bigger truck for a lower price! I am pretty confident I am not the first customer to get burned by merrillville budget. I actually give the rating a 1/10 star.

My Daughter reserved a moving truck over a week before her move on a Saturday. She was called Friday afternoon at 4:30 and told they didn't have a truck for her the next day. They gave her an 800 number to call customer service. Customer service said they would find her a truck and give her a call back in 2 hours. No call back Friday night. Saturday morning she received a voicemail at 6am saying they couldn't find a truck within a 100 miles... so sorry. She had to be out of her apartment that day! Family came from 3 hours away to help move as well. Thank god UHAUL had a truck available and it ended up being cheaper as well. Read these reviews if you are considering this budget location. There are 2 UHAUL locations close to here.
UPDATE: I did contact customer service per below and they said there was nothing they could do for me since the UHAUL truck was cheaper than the truck we had reserved through Budget. No compensation for the last minute 6 am call they gave us on Saturday morning letting us know they had no trucks available at all.
They have a number and dont even pick up worse costmer service ever.
Reserved a moving truck for today. I called 9/29/17 got a 16 footer 29.99 plus the fuel and tax, was told total price was 42.51. No mention of deposit. Get to the Merrillville store. Gave him my reservation number. He said 160 deposit plus 109 for the rental. Never do business with budget. They don't honor your price given to you with your reservation. I went to Uhaul and got a better experience and a truck.
