I'm only giving two stars instead of one star because the female employee who actually helped me was very courteous and helpful. No complaints with her whatsoever. The guard, however, was extremely rude. I was there with all four of my children (ranging in ages from 8 months old, to 6 years old.) They were behaving VERY well. So well that I was impressed with my own children. I told my husband I'm convinced that it was a miracle. That didn't keep the guard from coming over to reprimand my children AT LEAST four times (I believe that's a conservative guess since I didn't actually keep count.) If my children had been being disruptive or rowdy, I would've understood his grumpy demeanor. However, my children were behaving VERY well. Things he reprimanded them for included: 1. having their shoe on the chair in the waiting area (my 4 year old was sitting with one foot under his bottom) 2. Touching a pole. (Yes. My 2 year old dared to touch one of those pole, divider things for people standing in line. Apparently that's an offense that warrants the big mean security guard getting down in your face and brusquely telling you to stop.) 3. Touching a sign, (Yes, my 6 year old and 4 year old were both touching a very large vinyl sign/display and it would seem that's against the rules.) 4. Having a pencil. (Again, my 4 year old had a mechanical pencil *without lead in it* near the sacred vinyl sign thing. I guess at any moment the pencil could've magically sprouted lead and my son could've drawn on the precious sign.)

If you are going to the office make sure you read all the signs even if those signs are in such small print you need to be right in front of them to even see what the hell they say. Remember to always turn off all sound on phone I.E. ringer, notification, media and system sounds. if not you will be reprimanded by the guard. please remember no food or drinks in the building even if you have to sit there for hours at a time. My first time there i ended up waiting for 1 hour before they told me i was in wrong place. i took my number and just waited. ALso please remember even if you want to throat punch the rude as hell guard, its not allowed.

In conclusion - My kids did GREAT. They did so well that afterwards I took them to the park to play and when we got home, I fixed them ice cream sundaes. Part of the reason I gave them those rewards is because they earned it with their exemplary behavior. The other part of the reason I gave them those rewards is because they had to be subjected to a cranky guard who apparently hates his job, all because I needed to get a job done at the SS office. If you ever have to go to this office, please, for the children's sake, try not to take them with you.

They must have gotten a new guard because I was expecting the worse but it was just the opposite. When I entered the guard greeted me kindly and pointed me to the right place. I saw him grab chairs for people and heard him say goodbye to every person leaving. The lady that took care of me was very helpful and kind as well. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at this office.

Right now I'm pretty much fuming I'm so upset with this office. I had to send in my application for a new social security card after getting married because for whatever reason, the office is only open weekdays from 9-4 which is exactly during my working hours. It has now been almost 6 weeks and I still haven't received ANY word on what is going on even after calling and leaving a message with whoever it supposed to be handling my application 3 times!! Now today I called again and they are saying they can't find my information at all. I was supposed to receive a call back today after closing so they could do a better search for my information and once again NOTHING! I'm giving them until Friday to get my new social security card to me or I'll be showing up to give someone an earful!

Its real simple. Clear your schedule for the day because you'll sit for a few hours and then hear the guard talk about cell phone uses every 30 min. So innefficant no wonder why the government programs are seen as a joke by everyone. I've seen white crayons more useful and helpful then what I've witnessed today
